Relaxed, Fun and Timeless Wedding Photography
Photography on Your Wedding Day
I would describe my style as documentary photography, with a mixture candid moments and relaxed, fun group photos all edited in a natural, timeless way. For the majority of your wedding day I will be discreetly in the background blending in as a guest. Many people opt for the full wedding story of preparations through to the first dance, however shorter coverage length options are available. On average an hour is spent documenting the bridal party having their hair and make-up done. I also creatively record all the details including dresses, flowers, shoes, something new, old, borrowed and blue. Preparations with the groom and his groomsmen usually consist of them putting on their ties and buttonholes at the ceremony venue prior to some portraits and greeting the guests. The ceremony is captured in an unobtrusively with a natural set-up of the register document signing. I have worked with lots of registrars, vicars and celebrants on a regular basis over the years. Working as lone photographer I have been praised for my work ethic capturing a wide variety of images throughout the day. During the drinks reception I will work efficiently with the flow of the day to ensure you get a nice balance of getting all the group photos you would like with no limitations, details of your decorations and reportage coverage of you spending time with your guests. It is also the time of day when I recommend going for a short walk away from the guests to take some natural, relaxed wedding couple portraits. It will also give you a moment out of the spotlight to reflect on your day so far. Coverage of the wedding breakfast can include any speeches before or after the meal, and for couples wishing me to stay an extra hour or so for the first dance I continue with reportage coverage whilst the evening room and entertainment is being prepared. During this time wedding couples and their guests often approach me to request additional portraits. If you wish to have fun photo booth portraits, you can provide your own props and I can take some photos in that style. There is also the opportunity for additional wedding couple portraits when the evening light gets dramatic and colourful. The current trend is for the wedding cake to be cut before the first dance, however if you opt for shorter coverage it can be arranged with your venue to cut your cake earlier to have professional photos taken. I do all the planning of your wedding photography taking into account your special requests and requirements ensuring your day runs smoothly, capturing every moment without taking over and allowing other vendors to do their job to the planned wedding day timings. My relaxed nature and forward thinking is beneficial should any part of your wedding day run behind keeping everything flowing and ensuring I have all your requests before I leave.
Customised Wedding Photography Packages
My wedding photography packages are flexible for you to customise as you plan your perfect wedding. A deposit is required when booking and put towards your chosen coverage length which can be decided nearer the day. This helps to keep your options open as you may be unsure about getting ready photos early on during your wedding planning. All packages include high resolution digital photos to print, copy and share with family and friends. Wedding day timings and photographic requests are also confirmed closer to your wedding day. Using specialist printing companies for professional photographers based in the UK, I create a high standard of albums and frames for your home, which are all optional to accompany your digital photos. Wedding album designs are all created by myself to tell a story incorporating themes of your day. Whilst the majority of couples go for my unique storytelling style; albums can be designed with traditional plain page backgrounds if preferred. Ordering and proofing is done online, in your own time. Appointments are available for those who live locally to Berkshire wishing to order in person. Gift vouchers can be purchased and a gift list set up too.
Pre-wedding Meeting and Engagement Portraits
We are fortunate to have so many lovely venues in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey. For venues I have not been to before, the pre-wedding meeting enables me to familiarise myself with their layout but most importantly for all couples it is an opportunity for me to get to know you and find out why you chose the venue. This is particularly important if the venue has vast grounds so that I know your preferences for portrait backgrounds if time is limited on your wedding day. At the pre-wedding meeting I will take some engagement portraits in the style of how I will work so you know what to expect on the day and eliminate any nerves you may have about being photographed. Digital copies of your engagement portraits are included with all packages and available to download from your private client gallery before your wedding.
